A few shots of Cavendish's growth

After the Timelapse video posts I could not resist a few shot of Cavendish's growth while the camera was tied up.

Unfolding of banana leaf - Timelapse Video - Take Two

I have taken photos through time as a leafs unfold but they were never from a mounted location or they have been dot.GIF animations that were not very good quality.  My first attempt at a mounted time lapse video Unfolding of banana leaf - Timelapse video Take One was not very smooth as it only had 2 frames a day at 12 hrs apart for 11 days.  'Take Two' shows a leaf unrolling with 2-4 shots a day for 16 days. I am confident this will provide a much smoother video.

Here is my 'Take Two' attempt at a time lapse video of a leaf unrolling from just a curl, through a cigar to a cone, to the unrolling of a full grown 24" x 13" leaf.  Meanwhile... the next leafroll will rise to receive a bit of its own attention on the screen.

The making of: Unfolding of banana leaf - Timelapse Video - Take Two

For the few who are interested here is more on this video.  Keep in mind I am an amature and I am only using a point and shoot camera.  'Take One' was my first attempt at making a real timelapse video but I wanted to see if I could make an even smoother one by taking more frequent shots each day(usually three).  I am also hoping on a better position as my last video ended up being the back of a leaf as they do not exactly announce what direction they will unfold.  EDIT: Once again the leaf is not in a good position to get a good view, so this time I am slightly rotating the whole plant just a bit before each shot to get stop some action movement of the pot moving to a better position to view the leaf unrolling.

I relocated the camera higher than my first attempt to frame leaf better.

Record Of shots taken for the action, I have no set schedule this time , but I am taking 3-4 shots each day.  It is not practical for me to set definite time each day to take the shots as I have to do it around my daily life.  After all this is only a hobby to enjoy and do when I have time and feel like it.  I have to admit though I do enjoy it and look forward to spending time with my banana hobby.

April 1 - Shot 1 -Roll height 9.25" at 11:00 am from a higher point than Unfolding of banana leaf - Timelapse Video - Take One so I will have a better frame this time and not have to adjust camera height through the frames.
April 1 Shot 2 - 3:30 pm
April 1 Shot 3 - 6:15 pm - 9.5"
April 1 Shot 4 - 10:30 pm

April 2 Shot 5 - 8:15 am - 10.25" - I noticed a brownish pigment blotch on the emerging leafroll, an unusual birthmark for a mature leaf. I will be watching it to see what it turns into.
April 2 Shot 6 - 11:00 am
April 2 Shot 7 - 3:00 pm 10 3/4"
April 2 Shot 8 - 8:30 pm 11"

April 3 Shot 9 - 9:30 am 11 1/2" Turned Date/time imprint on to me keep track of photo shot times.
April 3 Shot 10 - 12:20 pm 12"
April 3 Shot 11 - 4:03 pm 13"

April 4 Shot 12 - 8:42 am 15 1/4"
April 4 Shot 13 - 6:48 pm 15 1/2" Grocer day so no day shots. not a lot of height growth but added some girth as it is starting to unroll.
April 4 Shot 14 - 10:35 pm 16 1/4" Turn the light on override to take a shot as there has been significant growth.

April 5 Shot 15 - 9:17am 17 1/4" The brown leaf stain look like something that happened while it was rolled up tight inside. leaf is rotating
April 5 Shot 16 - 3:37 pm 17 1/4" The leaf has rotated more
April 5 Shot 17 - 5:16 Started a slow counter clockwise rotation of the pot to catch the leaf rolling out from the front as the back appears to me opening on camera side. I hope this will be a neat effect in the finished product to catch the leaf folding out from the top side instead of the back like last time. As it is now my guess as to which way it would open out was off 180 by degrees.
April 5 Shot 18 - 10:44 pm 17 3/4 Rotated pot counter clockwise a bit(1-2"?) for stop motion turn effect. Overrode timer for evening shot since we had Wallaces over for dinner.
April 5 Shot 19b - 10:44 pm 17 3/4 Same shot with overhead closet light off. Rotated pot counter clockwise a bit for stop motion turn effect.

April 6 Shot 20 - 8:32 am 18" Rotated pot counter clockwise a bit for stop motion turn effect.
April 6 Shot 21 - 12:10 pm 18 3/4" Did not rotate pot a bit leaf seems to be moving around on it own at it unfolds
April 6 Shot 22 - 4:56 pm 18 7/8" Did not rotate pot a bit leaf seems to be moving around on it own at it unfolds
April 6 Shot 23 - 8:20 pm 19"

April 7 Shot 24 - 8:10 am 20" Rotated pot counter clockwise a bit as the cigars center rib has not seemed to be moving and I want to optimize it unfolding view. However the rest of the leaf has significantly rotated around as it is unfolding as would be expected.
April 7 Shot 25 - 11:29 am 20" Rotated pot counter clockwise a bit as the cigars center rib has not seemed to be moving and I want to optimize it unfolding view. Leaf has turned from a cigar to a cone.
April 7 Shot 26 - 5:24 pm 20" Did not rotate. Leaf has turned from a cigar to a cone.
April 7 Shot 27 - 9:30 pm Did not rotate. Leaf has turned from a cigar to a cone.

April 10 Shot 34 - 2:29 pm

April 12 Shot 42 - 6:12 pm

April 13 Shot 43 - 12:17 pm 22 3/4 The next leafroll is well along and even widening out. Taking its own portion out the center of the shots.
April 13 Shot 44 - 4:42 pm 23"
April 13 Shot 45 - 8:28 pm 24' Turned pot very slightly to show just a bit more leaf.
