Leaf 20 unfurled, Tomato sprouts getting taller

~ The 20th leaf is 16 inches long and 8 inches wide. The plant height is 13.15" inches and 9.5" inches circumference.*

 * Remember I measure height from top of corm to top of the pseudostem where the top leaf stalk emerges. If you measure from top of corm(soil level) to the highest leaf Caven measures an honest 2' feet.

Banana free post, Started a Tomato plant from seed.

~ This is a Banana free post, but this new tomato plant will share the light with our Banana tree for the winter so I thought it an appropriate post.

~ We just picked our last tomato from the plant we brought in during the last of the summer season.

~ I already germinated a couple Tomato plant sprouts from seed I got from seed savers in a moist paper towel that sat on top of the lights. They are Mortgage Lifter (Halladay's) vine type and are now in a 4" pots. So far only one seed has put out leafs as seen below. We hope to have some late winter tomatoes.

1 of 2 seed starts in 4' pots
11-17 the second sprout broke soil and is also looking good.

Some photo of Cavendish while I wait for leaf 19 to unroll

~ Some photos of Cavendish while I wait for leaf 19 to unroll. Very soon Caven will lose two more of its youth leafs, so this next leafs nomenclature will be designated as leaf 9 of 20.

~ Also can be seen in the pictures, one about ripe tomato and another ripening with one last green tomato left on the bush.

~ Leaf 9 of 18 unfurled at 15" long and 7.75" inches wide. Cavendish is now 12" inches tall with a 9" circumference.

~ We also have another tomato ripening on the bush that we brought in after the season. It is cool to still be getting occasional tomatoes off of the plant.
